Erev Shabbat Service with Guest Speaker Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib: A Gazan-American’s Perspective of the War and Hamas

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMService in the Sanctuary* & Livestreamed; Followed by a Q&A Session in the Social HallDuring the Erev Shabbat service, hear from Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, an American writer and analyst who grew up in Gaza City. Mr. Alkhatib left Gaza for the United States in 2005 as a teenage exchange student. He writes extensively on Gaza’s political and humanitarian affairs, and has been an outspoken critic of Hamas and a promoter of coexistence and peace as the only path forward between Palestinians and Israelis.
After the service, Mr. Alkhatib will entertain questions during a Q&A session in the Social Hall. Light refreshments will be served.
This talk is part of the Z3 Conference. Ahmed will also be speaking at the Z3 Conference on Sunday, November 17.
Alkhatib Alkhatib is a resident senior fellow with the Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative at the Atlantic Council’s Middle East Programs. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in intelligence and national security studies. His writing has been published in US and Israeli outlets, and his opinions and comments have been featured in the international press.
