Israel, Reform Judaism and You: Erev Shabbat Service With Speaker Daryl Messinger of ARZA

Friday, January 10, 2025 10 Tevet 5785

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuary* and Livestream

The US Reform Movement is launching a powerful campaign to protect democracy, pluralism and Reform Judaism in Israel and make more connections with Jews in the diaspora. Daryl Messinger, chair of the Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA), will share how each of us can help create a vibrant, secure Israel and a robust relationship between Israel and our community in 2025.

Before becoming chair of ARZA, Daryl held several leadership roles within the Reform Movement, including Chair of the URJ, Chair of the Reform Pension Board and Chair of the URJ Camp Newman Advisory Board. Over the last 30 years, Daryl has also played a leadership role in many facets of the Bay Area Jewish community, including serving as president of Congregation Beth Am from 1995 until 1997. Before retiring in 2009, Daryl helped to build a marketing/communications firm; earlier in her career she was a partner in an investment advisory firm. In 2015, she became the first woman to hold the top lay leadership position in the Reform movement.

If you attend virtually, please join the livestream starting at 6:15 PM. You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the digital version (available for purchase) of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.
