November/December Tzedakah Box: Beth Am Hunger & Homelessness Winter Campaign
As our calendar turns to winter months and the temperatures on the thermometer drop, we at Beth Am we take the time to recognize that there are many in our local community who are struggling to find adequate housing and food. The need continues to be great and demands on local organizations serving people in need continue to grow.
The book of Leviticus instructs, “If your neighbor becomes poor… then you shall strengthen him, be he a stranger or a settler, he shall live with you.” (Leviticus 25:35) Each year, Beth Am collects money through our Hunger & Homelessness Campaign, to be distributed to local organizations that serve the most vulnerable members of our community. Last year we raised nearly $42,000, and we hope to match or beat that number this year. Groups we have supported in the past include: Hope's Corner, Community Services Agency, Ecumenical Hunger Program, Home & Hope, Jewish Family and Children’s Services, LifeMoves and Second Harvest Food Bank.
We ask you to be as generous as possible. Gifts of any size are welcome and very much appreciated. A donation can be made:
