Join us for a screening of The Last Repair Shop, which won the 2024 Oscar for Best Documentary Short. The film explores the nature of repairing brokenness in our world and our lives, a fitting metaphor as we enter our Season of Teshuvah.
From the filmmakers: "In a nondescript warehouse in the heart of Los Angeles, a dwindling handful of devoted craftspeople maintain over 80,000 student musical instruments, the largest remaining workshop in America of its kind. Meet four unforgettable characters whose broken-and-repaired lives have been dedicated to bringing so much more than music to the schoolchildren of the recording capital of the world."
We'll explore the connections between the film and the themes of the High Holy Days in a discussion immediately after the film.
Following the film and discussion, we'll gather in the Sanctuary for Havdalah and our S'lichot service.
