Earth Day Erev Shabbat Service: Beth Am Welcomes Pastor David Samelson of Los Altos United Methodist Church
Friday, April 19, 2024 • 11 Nisan 5784
6:15 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuary* and LivestreamedDuring the Erev Shabbat service, our Zimriyah Jr. Choir will sing and teens will read an original poem about Climate Change, written by our 8th Graders during their Dayenu Youth Engagement unit on sustainability.
As a synagogue community, we strive to be in dialogue and relationship with other faith-based institutions in our community. It is with that goal in mind that we often turn our pulpit over to clergy of different faiths. This Shabbat we welcome Pastor David Samelson, the Senior Pastor of Los Altos United Methodist Church (LAUMC). LAUMC is a visionary Church on the leading edge of outreach, justice and spirituality. They operate as a "changemaker church," committed to following Jesus’ example of having compassion for all people and celebrating God’s gift of diversity. LAUMC aims to create a church home where people of every gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, immigration and socioeconomic status can unite in the mission of God’s love. Beth Am is delighted to have Pastor Samelson address our congregation during our Erev Shabbat service.
If you attend virtually, please join the livestream starting at 6:15 PM. You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the digital version (available for purchase) of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.

*This service will be live video streamed. By entering the Sanctuary you give Beth Am permission to record you.
