5:00 PM - 8:00 PMNEW START TIME: Doors Open at 5:00 PM (snacks will be served); Film Begins at 5:30 PM; Congregation Beth JacobBeth Am’s Jewish and Israel Advocacy Committee (JIAC) is pleased to cosponsor, with Congregation Beth Jacob, a special screening event of Sheryl Sandberg’s powerful documentary Screams Before Silence. We are thrilled that Sheryl will be with us in person to introduce her film and to take questions from the attendees prior to the screening.
The documentary sheds light on the multitude of sexual atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists during the attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. It captures first-person testimony from survivors, first responders, eyewitnesses, released hostages, forensic experts and advocates, revealing the uncompromising truth of Hamas' use of rape, assault and mutilation in a brutal rampage of gender-based violence. The screening event aims to uplift the unheard voices of the October 7th attack, inform and equip allies with the truth, and motivate us all to demand justice.
After the film, Stanford professor Gil-li Vardi, will provide insights and reflections on the documentary's themes and significance.
Please note: Screams Before Silence contains accounts of sexual violence against women. Given the nature of the content, attendees should be 18 and over.
Seating is limited and advance registration is required. A donation of $18 is requested.
