Erev Shabbat Service & Sukkot Celebration With Kindergarten Consecration

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuary* and Livestreamed; Oneg Shabbat to Follow in the Social HallAt Beth Am, we mark the entrance of young children into Jewish education with a special ceremony called Consecration (meaning “dedication to a sacred purpose”).
Join us for our Consecration service as we welcome our kindergartners and others beginning their Jewish education onto the bima to be blessed by our clergy in the presence of their families and the congregation. Students will also receive a special gift to help them remember this day of celebration!
Before the service, kindergarten families are invited to join us at 5:15 PM to celebrate the milestone with a festive dinner!
A festive Sukkot Oneg Shabbat will follow in the Social Hall.
If you attend virtually, please join the livestream starting at 6:15 PM. You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the digital version (available for purchase) of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.
To enhance your enjoyment of Shabbat, please visit betham.org/shabbatcorner (including "Social Stories" in the Resource Box to prepare children ahead of time for what to expect during the Shabbat service).
Mitzvah Opportunity: Support the Reproductive Justice Event: Post-Abortion Care Package Assembly
On Sunday, October 27 in the Beth Am Social Hall, the National Council of Jewish Women-San Francisco (NCJW-SF) is assembling post-abortion care kits for Bay Area residents receiving abortion care. In preparation for this event, there will be collection bins in the Sanctuary Foyer and Admin. Office waiting area. Items collected will be delivered to Beth Am prior to the Post-Abortion Care Package Assembly event. Items include:
- tea bags (boxes must contain individually wrapped tea bags)
- maxi pads
- small chocolates or hard candy (individually wrapped)
- instant hot packs (see an example)

Tricks of the Trope, Taught by Cantor Jaime Shpall
