Reform Jewry Across the Globe at a Time of Crisis: Sustaining our Communities, serving those in Need

Ambassador David Saperstein, President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, will discuss his perspectives regarding Reform Jewry across the globe in times of crisis. Proceeds from this event will support the work of Congregation Beth Am of Poltava and Sunnyvale Community Services, which provides relief locally.

The world is under quarantine. Each nation is dealing with the virus in different ways. Trying to survive and support each other during this global pandemic is central to our communities.  From the perspective of being our former U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom and from his travels around the world visiting World Union communities, Ambassador Saperstein has a unique understanding of the bigger picture vis-a-vis our global partners.

Maria Bernard, Executive Director of Sunnyvale Community Services, will also give a presentation about the heart of Silicon Valley as it responds to the needs of our at-risk community members.

The program will be hosted by Daryl Messinger, Immediate Past Chair of the Union for Reform Judaism, and will include an introduction by Rabbi Janet Marder. The program will conclude with a question and answer session.

Due to security this, event is not accessible to a public list. You must register to receive Zoom access information. Proceeds from the event will support our award-winning sister synagogue in Ukraine, Congregation Beth Am of Poltava, as well as Sunnyvale Community Services.
